Weekend of the 24th

On July 24 we went to the Orem Owls baseball game with the Parker's. As you can see they have a play ground there for ALL the kids to play on!! Needless to say that's where Mitch and I hung out for most of the game with ALL the other kids running around....I thought I was going to go crazy!!!:)

After the game they had a firework show which was really good!!

On Saturday we went up to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide. We had a blast!!! All the kids loved it even little Nash!!!:) Greg and I went on the zip line while Matt and Tanalyn stayed with all the kids. I have to admit I was a little nervous to try it, but I am glad I did.....it was so much fun!!! After we had are turn Matt and Tanalyn went on it while we stayed with the kids.

After we had lunch we were headed to the "Alpine Coaster" everybody we talked to said it is so fun. Well as we came out of the restaurant it started to sprinkle. So we thought we would just hang out for a minute until it stopped. Well it stopped.....for a minute, we got back up to the park and everything was closed. Well we thought again its not going to start raining again, we'll just wait here and be the first in line.....ha ha ha!!! It started down poring, we couldn't go anywhere. It was just us and the workers standing under the ski lift pavilion. Needless to say we never got to ride the coaster, are fun day had ended early thanks to a nice down pour!!! Oh well, we all had a great time.....especially the kids:) After we had left Park City we headed for Little America where we stayed that night. We took the kids swimming and they loved it!!!
It was a great weekend, we'll have to do it again sometime....right Parker's!!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom.......

July 8th is my moms birthday. Us girls thought it would be fun to take her up to Good Things Utah and then out to lunch. Well it all sounded great!.......but my mom was called to jury duty, of all days!!! So we all decided we would go up to the show and then meet her for lunch afterward. That is if she didn't have to stay for the trial, which she didn't! The ladies of the show couldn't believe that my mom was call to jury duty. At the end of the show when they announce any birthdays, they put the camera on Sami and Allyse while they talked about my mom going to jury duty.....it was pretty funny!!!

Latter that night we went to Cafe Rio for dinner with the whole family and then to Mandy's house for some presents and cake!!!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game.....

Last Monday the Parker's asked if we wanted to go to the Bees game. Well Ashlynn had a little melt down earlier that morning because she wanted to go with Greg down to Vegas for a very quick trip, I mean down and right back.....doesn't that sound like so much fun!!! Anyway Greg couldn't say no to her with her big tears rolling down her face so they had already left when Tanalyn called to ask about the game. So me and Mitch tagged along:) We had a lot of fun....thanks Matt, Tanalyn, and boys!!!

Land of the Free!!!!

Happy 4th of July!! Well it's yet another tradition with the Chipman family..... I know, I know another one!! We "camp out" up at my parents home on July 3rd. So the whole family brings their sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, treats, and of course the air mattress!!!
We all had a blast!!! Greg brought some fireworks so we had a good little pre show!! I got to watch from the front window, thanks to Mitch who doesn't care much for the fireworks:) Even Pat and Larry came down to enjoy them and a Pepsi!!! When it was time to settle down, we all went in the backyard to watch a movie. Normally we bring out my parents tv from their room and hook it all up so we can watch the movie, but this year Shawn brought a projector. We hung up a white sheet on the house and it worked perfectly.
Greg loves his fireworks, so for the 4th he put on a great show just outside on the street. Thanks to Greg and are neighbor Matt, we had an awesome show!!! We could even see Pleasant Grove's fireworks from are house!!! Ashlynn had some friends over and they all had so much fun!!! Mitch did allow us to watch them outside, he just didn't let me put him down the whole time, and after every firework was done he would say "done fireworks, fireworks all gone."

STRAWBERRY DAYS

Let the festivities begin......

Now for all you who know me and my family, you know that Strawberry Days is a BIG event for us!! I dare say that its up there with Christmas....no lie!! So bare with me and all my many pictures that you are about to view, I did try to cut it down a little....trust me I could have posted a lot more!!!
Again, if you know us Chipman's, you know that we have our many traditions with Strawberry Days. The first big event being the Block Party! My mom started this back in 1973 with some friends, after the 1st parade they started doing a lunch (that was back when they had 2 parades and it was held on Thursday....oh, the good old days) and as you can tell it has grown from there!!!

Next is Huck Finn Day which Mandy is in charge of every year. She does a great job!!! Each year it seems to get bigger and bigger. There are a lot of things to do, like fishing, donut walk, pony rides, face paint and so on. I forgot my camera so the pics that I do have came from Mandy's camera.


Another event Mandy is in charge of is the "Pie Eating Contest"
My niece Allyse just had gotten back from basketball camp in St. George that day and wasn't really in the mood to eat a pie, but we talked her into it. She only had about 2 or 3 bites but she still won....so what if she was the only girl in her age category!!!



Matt wasn't exactly thrilled about getting pie all over his face but he was a trooper and participated anyway.....good job Matt, to bad the other guy was a pie eating pro and apparently
does this for a living or something:) Maybe next year!!!


The City of Fun Carnival from Pleasant Grove..... it doesn't get any better then that!!!
It would not be Strawberry Days without at least walking through the carnival. But you know when you have kids, your not just going to "walk through" the carni, you gotta ride the rides.....right!!!
Mitch was in heaven, but every time a ride would stop he would freak out because he didn't want to get off then we would go to the next one and he'd be fine! Ashlynn was loving it too, except for the dragon roller coaster. She started out fine, then a couple of rounds into it her smile was gone and the tears were coming. After she got off she said "I didn't like that ride it made my tummy want to throw up," she recovered and we continued to the next ride!!

Way to go Mom and Dad!!! Like SO MANY people have said......you so deserve this awesome honor!! You guys have done so much, not only just for the community but for individuals who you have helped through out the years. We all know how much both of you have done to make Pleasant Grove a great place to live. We also know how much Pleasant Grove means to both of you and it shows!!!

Last but not least......Its Saturday Night, time for some Rodeo Action!

Being the Grand Marshals this year, my parents had to go to the the Rodeo every night to be honored. They didn't stay for the whole rodeo every night but Saturday is the night we normally go so we all were there the cheer them on. It was pretty neat to see them ride around the arena in the buggy and hear the announcer honor them!!!
The rodeo was great, Mitch loved the motor cross, he cheered right along with everybody else. Ashlynn liked it too, although she was pretty much busy the whole time going from one person to the next just visiting and probably driving everybody crazy. Oh well that's what she loves to do, talk and ask A LOT of questions.....we sure do love her though!!!!

T-Ball, Dance, Father's Day!!!

Okay, so its been a long while since I have updated. Life just seems to get more crazy each day, especially now that its summer!!! So here are a few things we have been up to lately........

T-BALL

Ashlynn started T-Ball the first of June. Now you just gotta love t-ball!!! I think its one of the most hilarious and most frustrating games to watch all at the same time, but it just wouldn't be summer if she didn't play!!!!

ASHLYNN'S DANCE RECITAL

Ashlynn had her end of the year dance recital on Saturday. She has been in

competitions since March but this was the finale!!! Its been so fun to see how much she has grown this last year with dance. Her cousin Sami Jo has been competing for a long time now and Ashlynn loves to watch her, so this year has been really fun for her to be able to go to competitions and dance just like Sami!!!

FATHER'S DAY

For Father's Day we had a barbecue at our house with my family. We had a lot of fun. My brother Quint got engaged last Friday so we were able to see the "diamond" it is beautiful!!! I am so excited for him. Jen is such an awesome girl.....congrats to you both!!! Anyway, back to father's day, I just have to say thanks to Greg for being a great dad!!! Ashlynn and Mitch love you so much!! They would much rather go with dad then mom. I'm just not as fun as dad. Also I just want to thank my own dad for being a great dad!!! Thank you for always being there for me and for your support, it mean so much!!!
